The Underrated thread got me to reminiscing about corals past. one of my Favorites was this mystery nub I got from a local reefer. It the size of my thumb and all brown. we had no clue what it was.

Here it is shortly after i got it. it had started to grow some tips and a tiny bit of color. this was July 2011.

I have a couple of these now. Bargain bin frags :)

They are just starting to get a little color now. In a few months I'll have to do some comparison pics.
 
Classic Red Planet story. Got the frag for 15 bucks and did not know it was an RP.

I sort of figured it was once it colored up. that is one thing I LOVE about Acropora, they can go from a brown little blob to something very pretty. I had many do that in my tank over the years.
 
Here is another that started as nothing special. I had no clue what it was. Wish i still had it.
