Most of the time I do about
3 parts oyster shells
2/1 part play sand
2part Portland cement

no problem with play sand? i used oyster shells and aragonite in a few kinda liked the all oystershell byt when i use 3os 2ar and 2cement my rocks broke apart very easily are you not having any issues like that? i wish there was more discussion on diy rocks too many people get scared and run to the lfs screaming take my money i need your most expensive live rock you have oh and please charge me by the pound.......LOL petco is petco but atleast they sell it by rough size and our petcos sell it out of the critter tanks so usually you get enough emerld crabs or snails to pay for the rock... even had a friend bring home a rock wrapped in wet paper towels and out of water for 3 hours only to find out it had a lawn mower blenny in it and still alive to the day.....

I cure mine for a minimum of 30 days. After 28 days the concrete is done curing but I like just going a little longer.

Yes I lay down a very thin sheet of plastic when I make the walls. I am able to get a super tight fit this way.

How long to dry . I’m doing diy rock rn. My seems too weak. On the 6 day of drying the cement.

I air dry for about a week to 2 weeks then 30 days in water. How much sand are you doing?
