I have a Two Little Fishies phosban 150. Iam having problems with the lower sponge filter and the gfo media floating up in the Reactor after running for a few days. I put zip ties through the sponge but I didn't like the way the water flows through the media. Has anyone encountered this issue? Thanks, reefers.

I ditched putting sponge at the bottom, and use the NPX screens now. You cut the screen to fit, and then I super glued mine to the red plate. I then use two sponges on the top half and I've had good luck.

I think it depends on what type of GFO you're using. I use Rowaphos and I've not had issues, but when I used the BRS stuff I had problems.

What if you just put one of those screens over top of the sponge and super glued it to the pipe? That would hold the sponge down.

I think the problem is the sponge filters get dirty, with the solid material that gets in them doesn't let the water travel through them, they become more bouyant lifting them up inside the Reactor. Because when I clean them they will be fine for a few days.
