Would anyone be able to ID the algae or bacteria that grows in little tufts. It’s hairy and seems to attach to the glass at one point and has a bunch of hairs radiating from that point. Comes off easy with a mag cleaner.

i will also add it seems to be more in areas of higher flow.

Does it retract at all like an anemone when you touch it? If not it's probably just hair algae growing onto any speck of something stuck to the glass.

Nope, it just blows in the flow. It also takes a few passes of the mag cleaner to get it off. Based on pictures I’ve seen, it seems like normal hair algae and I’ve got some on the rocks as well. Time to get that hermit crab.
