I am looking into adding this feature to my system. I can't count the times being able to visual check in on the system would have been helpful or just down right cooool. Not sure on forum for this post between this and vid but seemed more fitting to member tanks

While thinking about this I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of folks that take advantage of this, and I have seen a few times in the recent past where people have opened up their feed for the day for R2R members to view - Sooo cool, and such a good idea. Not sure the legistics with allowing peeps to view in for the day with web and stuff - if that could cause a problem for folks running the tank cams - if so than this wouldn't work, but I dont think it does.?.

So those of you out there that get to check in on your tank and see the fishies while at the office, camping or what have you. And of course that dont mind showing - Jump on here and maybe tell a bit about how your system is ran and how you set it up to video - could put a link to your feed thread showing peeps where to go on that day your looking at the tank thinking.."dang that looks good - people gotta see this".lol

Would be a super cool thread if it worked out in having quite a few participants - would also help the rest of us that are in the pre stage of setting video up for the tank with info as I can only speak for myself...but I am a computer dummie. I believe there already are a couple open live tank feeds out there.?. If people know of open feed streaming video of a system post it up here for folks to check out. Or if you feel like showing off your tank - jump on. I know I will be up here when I get it all figured out.

So who's got live tank vid

I use an IP camera bought off Amazon. A Loftek I believe, but there are others. Once it's setup and connected to your wireless router you just plug it in and go to the web address they give you and log in. I use it mostly when I am a away for a few days. Right now I use it as a puppy cam to see if my new rescue dog is getting into any trouble.

Ya seems like an awesome addition - thanks for chiming in. I have a web cam and was wanting to use that - have recently seen the drop cams tho and they seem pretty cool.

I have a DropCam....works pretty good. It's great for when I'm away...or just feel like watching my tank while working. I think there are better products out there but they are quite a bit more $$$....
