I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 lbs of live rock that I recently finished recuring and reseeding (it did have some algae when the tank was running but its been 6 months in a skimmed and phosbanned container...no algae or any other pests on it). It came out of a friend's tank who shut down and we traded it for the labor of taking the tank down. Its a mix of nice quality pieces and I know for a fact she paid over $1500 for it all. She got most of it from the LFS as fiji (old school type) and "Pukani" rock. There were a few pieces of Tonga in there as well if I remember correctly. Most of it is medium-large size however there are two very large plate-type pieces (each at least 30 lbs) that could create some very interesting structures. I am asking $3/lb for it however if you took all of it in one lot I'd go to $2.50/lb and $2.00/lb on the big pieces.
I'd like to sell it in larger lots frankly so its not more work than its worth to ship...but willing to entertain offers. At this price I'd prefer no cherrypicking. But its all nice and I can do simple requests (no tonga, large pieces, smallest pieces etc) Its warm these days so it could probably do all right shipped ground UPS and packed in damp newspaper in a styro box. Also, I will be traveling out East in the coming weeks and could probably bring it along with me for delivery (I-80 corridor to New York from Illinois).
