I stopped ordering from Live Aquaria years ago, but just wanted to help inform others. They have stooped to a new low even with all the terrible reports about them. They are advertising an obviously sick pinnatus batfish with multiple pathogens.

I am really at a loss for words. So many things wrong with this. I saw @Jay Hemdal in the comments trying to warn people. But the sad truth is that advertising like this works on many people. Please spread the word any way you can!

Here's the link. The video is hard to watch the fish is so sick. The screenshots don't even capture it

Exactly. All the way back to Dr. Foster and smith catalog days, they were a partners for my hobby and starting my business. For some reason, even though I haven't bought from them since i noticed a quality decline, it still seemed like they might turn it around. Call it nostalgia. But after seeing this, I hope the company just dissolves. End of an era

As for personal experience, I stopped ordering from them shortly after the last buyout. They shipped me an order, then a replacement order of fish with no insulation or heat packs. The fish were almost all D.O.A. I'm sure I still have a substantial credit with them, but I started ordering quarantined fish from other retailers and never looked back.

LA was my my go to vendor when I entered the hobby 10 ish years ago. The 14 day arrive alive stay alive guarantee that they actually honored was too good for me to pass up. I haven't purchased since F & S sold the company.
Too bad really but not at all uncommon these days for a great company to be sold to a large corporation only to have the company ruined.

Think these guys are living on borrowed time. There was the recent news of Chapter 11 but supposedly they were just closing down the WI location not the California one. I never ordered livestock from them but their frozen foods were unbeatable for price, quantity and shipping costs.
A week ago, I took a chance and ordered a bunch of flat packs figuring if they don’t ship it I’ll have my CC company credit me. But couple days ago I got the shipment although it was missing about half of a particular type of frozen food I ordered- and it was LA brand frozen food. Day later they did adjust the price and even gave me my loyalty $ credit. I think they are just trying to sell off everything they have left then wouldn’t be surprised to see them completely shut down.

Hmmm, I don't know. They shut down advertising went they filed chapter 11 but are back in full force. That takes quite a bit of money and manpower. Maybe they got some new investors and are trying to resurrect the company but doing a horrible job? They are operating like they are fully back, which I don't see happening in just a liquidation of assets scenario.

Yeah, was a lot of misinformation going around during that time so not sure. Virtually all of their LA frozen foods are out of stock and have been for quite a while. Woulda thought they’d replenish those fairly quickly if they were planning to stay in biz. Time will tell.

I hope you're right. I feel like they are burning a lot of people with these tactics. I just checked their fish in-stock list and it looks pretty comparable to pre-bankruptcy. I used to order frozen food when they ran sales but they have been phasing that out the last few years. Maybe they owe their supplier that is branding their frozen food? Lol

I won a LA gift card here a bit ago and it was so hard to figure out what to use it on as everything was out of stock.. too bad, as they used to be an awesome place to purchase from.

It went downhill when Petco purchased it, but was still acceptable imo. This latest company that bought them out is completely dysfunctional

I think Dr. Reef might have a solution for you!
