Livestock or Pets...

Some call them livestock, some call them pets; either way, our finned friends are in our homes and under our care! We spend time feeding them, ensuring their environment is clean, and incurring expenses for treatment when they become sick or injured. Although our fish are never truly livestock by definition, I've heard some hobbyists say that, although they love their fish, they wouldn't put them on the same level as other common household pets. Where do you stand?

I am fond of both my dogs and fish. My fishes exhibit dog-like behavior although my daughter thinks i ended up giving it the "pavlov treatment".

I have 28 fish. Many of them have unique personalities that make me see pets. However, a few are there to help with maintenance. All are respected.

All animals in my system, save plankton, are pets! My fish eat out of my hand. They definitely recognize me. Even my shrimp recognize me. At first they’d hide whenever I came around but now they stay out.
