Hi all,hope your well.
one my wrasse dive bombing sandbed then coming straight out the sand and him and his fishy friends eating all the micro fauna so decided last night to glue/epoxy to main rockwork sticking out in hope it grew new head on side facing upto the light, but weight of itself made it fall off,so with alot curse words and omg 's i managed to stick it down.
Just zoomed in on phone and seen a little black bug ( i think some kind if isopod i found on a gsp frag several weeks back) but then noticed a hole in the skeloton about 8- 10 mm by 2- 3 mm ,the hole is on a piece where i believe another head was attached at one point and lfs or someone used a bandsaw to seperate them, and noticed some tentacles sticking out hole and some mandibles like crabs have and seen the cleaning action of mandibles, now i dont know if me man handling it last night caused the hole or if this creature is parasitic and made hole itself, but then my problem is do i glue the hole shut with critter inside and it gets trapped and dies or eats another hole in skeloton or even eats through the flesh and lobo dies.so far lobo seems to be ok,fluffing up through day and feeding tenctacles out at night.
So my question is do amphipods have mandibles like crabs do as had quick look on google and cant seem to find info ( if kept looking i will eventually find but just want to find out what my options are, whether it a bad guy in there or just a simple ampripod and if hole in skeloton will be detrimental to lobo.
Im uploading videos as we speak,be about 1 hour before can share them.
Whatever it is it looks clear/transparent like an ampripod but cant see any of body,i can only see tentacles and mandibles.
