Hi all,hope your well.

one my wrasse dive bombing sandbed then coming straight out the sand and him and his fishy friends eating all the micro fauna so decided last night to glue/epoxy to main rockwork sticking out in hope it grew new head on side facing upto the light, but weight of itself made it fall off,so with alot curse words and omg 's i managed to stick it down.
Just zoomed in on phone and seen a little black bug ( i think some kind if isopod i found on a gsp frag several weeks back) but then noticed a hole in the skeloton about 8- 10 mm by 2- 3 mm ,the hole is on a piece where i believe another head was attached at one point and lfs or someone used a bandsaw to seperate them, and noticed some tentacles sticking out hole and some mandibles like crabs have and seen the cleaning action of mandibles, now i dont know if me man handling it last night caused the hole or if this creature is parasitic and made hole itself, but then my problem is do i glue the hole shut with critter inside and it gets trapped and dies or eats another hole in skeloton or even eats through the flesh and lobo dies.so far lobo seems to be ok,fluffing up through day and feeding tenctacles out at night.

So my question is do amphipods have mandibles like crabs do as had quick look on google and cant seem to find info ( if kept looking i will eventually find but just want to find out what my options are, whether it a bad guy in there or just a simple ampripod and if hole in skeloton will be detrimental to lobo.
Im uploading videos as we speak,be about 1 hour before can share them.
Whatever it is it looks clear/transparent like an ampripod but cant see any of body,i can only see tentacles and mandibles.

will take pic of lobo if thats what you mean. but soon video coming of what i can see of critter sticking out which is better to see critter but sure here some pics off the hole..but just found on google ampripods do have mandibles.
First pic is screenshot from video of critter.then some pics of lobo itself which looks ok except hole in side.
The white stuff at bottom is excess superglue as wouldnt stay put at first then gave up and put back on sand then just glued/epoxy level on rocks just to get off sandbed

I forget what the little black bug is, iam trying to see what's living in the tunnel. I know there are burrowing worms that move in with brain corals. That need to be removed. Somehow.

Type of mollusk I believe. Will bore holes into the skeleton, however, I saw somewhere that we used to think they were bad but are actually helpful. Don't quote me on that one, I have a vague memory on it.

I believe hincapie could be right.

However, if it isn't a bivalve, I don't believe it's a coral eater. I mean, it could grow up to be one. I am really trying to make out that mantible. That cacoon can also be made by a variety of worms. This one is very difficult.

Ok 2 more videos uploading to youtube right now.maybe 20 minutes and can share.not of the original thing in hole i shared first but i found 4 holes total so far just at front/ sides and in 2 holes next to each other one critter nearly comes out with what look like big bright eyes ( like you would expect from something in dark all time and then one in hole next to it actually comes out for split second but its very fast.i don't think its a worm but these 2 may not be same as original critter as that one not moved for maybe 3 hours now.its just chilling at edge of hole.but see what you all think shortly. I know what i think ( on video lol )
Thanks for interest and these 4 holes in skeloton what i do ? Just leave alone or glue over as never noticed before and was little to rough with it last night so i could of caused them,
Maybe just leave alone unless coral starts to go downhill then glue over if does, only problem i go on holiday in 5 days for a week ^_^

Yeah can get revive from amazon,so more than likely all the lfs or at least some should sell it.
But i was more thinking along the lines of if i was to rough with it and damaged the skeleton as i tried gluing it to rocks last night i held /squeezed it down from the side and if i damaged it then some pods crawled in.wait till next 2 videos ready as looks like some kind crazy pod like things in another hole.and will look at video 3 now for mucus thing you saying mibu

Isopod is quite possible also. Hard to see it clear on a phone screen
