Hello
My Lobophyllia feels a bit shrunken. More of the spiky ends showing. This happens a bit sometimes, usually in between feedings.
But I noticed today it feels a bit pale in some areas. Don’t know if normal or a sign of something.
Reaction to light can’t be I think as it has been atbthat spot for months and nothing changes. Parameters also within range, the ones I test for at least.
I did change food to reef rods and of all corals the lobos seem to not really take it in as well. It sits there (this is direct feeding). Could that be it?

are you testing with a controller/auto-doser, or manually? have you checked your dosing lines/recalibrated your stuff? i would feed it frozen food once it perks up a bit. keep things stable and do not continue feeding it until it looks better.

sure. but again, i'd wait until it perks up as it is most likely stressed right now.
Yeah I dunno.. OP said recently changed to reef roids but didn't say what was feeding prior and noticing the paleness between feedings now. Sounds like a reason to switch back to other food for the Lobo at least. If it is a nutrition issue I wouldn't wait to feed at night if the feeding tentacles are out and accepting.

Well it has been showing a feeding response. Just feels like the food sits there more with the roids.
The food prior to switching was hikari corallific delight (also a powder). Which I also mixed into a paste. I mix it up though.
I gave up on the frozen as the fish go way crazier with the stealing

Always stable. Tests are manually (hanna and salifert). Dosing also stable (i do it manually as I am around).
One other thing that has changed is I recently started dosing seachem reef trace and and reef plus. One ICP mentioned a bit of low traces. But I am below the recommended amount still, until i get the next ICP and adjust

keep an eye on it during the night to see if anything is poking at it like inverts. not too sure what could've stressed it like this outside of the switching of food.

My first thought would be light, but since nothing changed I really can’t tell. We’ll keep an eye and possibly move it as well to a more shaded area just in casa
