Hello recently I realised that I lost an acropora frag during the night!when I checked it had white tentacles on it. And those tentacles came out from a nearby lobophyllia.
Have you ever saw that??

Are you talking about the ones on top or bottom?

The ones on top are feeding tentacles and mean it’s hungry and ready to capture food. It should be fed

The ones on the bottom are filaments and indicate stress or attempts to sting corals nearby

Those on the bottom!I have four more lobos none of them did something like this!now I left some distance from other corals. But is there any safe distance?I have a big lobo next to it. Will it also attack that lobo?

I would say 8” from other corals.

I also question if that’s a “lobo” which has been reclassified as symphyllia, or if it’s actually acan pachysepta which is a dangerous coral that has potent stingers that come out and attack anything around it

@thamnasteroid can you confirm Id?

Acan pachysepta is what the op has posted. They can extend their mesenterial filaments like crazy to consume their neighbors.

pachysepta

So I have to keep safe distances between other corals!the problem is that I bought it as lobo not as acan pachysepta!
Thank you for the knowledge and help!
