i will be visiting san francisco in early march and wondering if there's any nice/cool fish stores or aquatic adventures in the downtown city area. Guessing this subforum would know best.

You would think this would not be the case, but IME, the city does not have much to offer, although my understanding is that there are one or two newer ones that I have yet to visit. If you are willing to make the drive, Diablo Corals over in Hayward is definitely worth the trip, and Neptune Aquatics in San Jose is HANDS DOWN the nicest store I have ever stepped foot in.

Diablo is neat concord I think you mean aquatic collections. Bay bridge aquarium is in Oakland. All of these are accessible via bart except Neptune.

If you make it to Neptune area, Infinite Aquarium and Clear Water Aquarium are within 5-10min drive from there, both are great shops and a much more personal experience compared to Neptune. Infinite is the one with all the old school sps for cheap; The Vinh, pc rainbow, red planet, needles in a haystack. That kind of stuff.

Neptune is definitely worth the trip. Huge selection of coral.
Aquatic collection is good for higher end fish

Go to the California Academy of Sciences; you will not regret it a bit.
