Have a long nose butterfly in QT for 1 week now.

Has a red sore on one side, behind the pectoral fin.

Been running Prazi Pro since Saturday, if this is bacterial, I’m tempted to finish Prazi slightly early and turn the UV back on.

I’m hoping this isn’t Uronema. What do you all think? IMG_8695.jpeg IMG_8693.jpeg IMG_8697.jpeg

Looks like a puncture wound which has gotten infected. Do you have an urchin? Looks to be one or from pointed object. Fish also appears a little thin. What foods are you feeding it?
For issue on skin, slower to work, ruby Rally Pro would help but more effective in a separate tank would be seachem Neoplex

He’s eating frozen and also bbs, I’m wondering if I should throw a clam on a half shell in there for him.

He came in a bit thin, I feel like he looks pretty healthy, and has an appetite, I feel like he actually has put on a bit of weight in the week I’ve had him.

I don’t have Neoplex, I have Kanapro, erythromycin, and then nitrofuracin green.

Maybe an NFG bath?

The raised scales and dark coloration could be Uronema, but there is a fungal infection that has the same symptoms.
Do you have access to formalin?

I don’t, I can get some on Amazon, but won’t be here until Monday. Anything to try before then?
Not really. Formalin is toxic to people, but it does work as a dip against the fungal issue. Nothing helps with Uronema though.

It looked slightly better yesterday, less red, continued to eat. Will keep you posted

I think you can safely say it is NOT Uronema then. The fungal disease also will not get better without treatment, so you may just be dealing with a simple injury of some sort.
