Hey guys, my nearest "LFS" is a little over a hundred miles from my house so I do not frequent it too often. I am pretty self reliant with my own rodi, salt and when issues arise, amazon 2 day shipping. With that said, there is a Petco that is about 40 minutes from my house that has a saltwater section. I was buying an algae scraper the other day and saw that they had a new long tip anemone in one of the tanks. Its about the girth of a fist and about as 8 inches long. Most "LFS" near me have anemones of this size for $100 or more but this petco only wants $30 for this guy. I inspected the tanks and was able to spot ich on almost all the fish. I have 2 different 10 gallon QT tanks currently set up but i'm wondering if this would be a good purchase with disease in its current petco tank? I can QT the anemone for as long as it needs but should I hold off and purchase on in a tank that is presumed to be healthy or pull the trigger on this cheap one and QT for a long amount of time? The final tank for this nem would be a 40 gallon with a baby pair of mocha ocellaris clowns.

I agree, I wouldn’t support “ichy”stores unless your own fish are at risk and it’s the only place you can grab the item you need to save them. I never really noticed our Petco fish stuff before this interest in saltwater and egad is ours bad.
