long term spare probe storage

I have a spare set of pH probes i acquired through an equipment deal.
I don't need them at the moment, but i'd like to keep them around as spares. How can I store them long term?
Or, is it not even worth it? Should i just sell them and not worry about it?

If i decide to sell, is there a way to date or otherwise ID probes? i'd prefer to keep the newest/best probe and sell the older one.

They sell (check BRS) probe storage bottles for that reason exactly. They’re cheap and intended for this use exactly.

as far as ID I’m not aware of any way to date them. They typically last a year or two anyway.

You can also use the pH 4.0 and 7.0 as storage solution if you have it on hand according to Cole Palmer, that's what I have always done.
Paying 13$ for a mild solution of potassium chloride/ lab water ( RO/DI) is something I cannot bring myself to do! lol

true, but i have 2 of them to store. not sure if there's enough fluid in the packet for 2.
and 13 bucks to save $100 in probes is an OK bargain in my book.

There are ideal storage fluids, but artificial seawater diluted with 1-3 parts di water should be fine.
