Long-time listener, first-time caller

Greetings!

I finally made an account after lurking the forums for a few months.

I'm absolutely brand new to the saltwater world. My first tank is a Nuvo 20 long. Started with dry rock and live sand. I cycled with TurboStart 900 + ammonium chloride. I don't have any fish yet - I'm thinking of an ocellaris pair and either a goby or blenny.

What really made me want to start a saltwater tank is coral, but it seems like I should make sure I can keep fish happy first.

I just got my light today (XR15 Pro), but don't have a mount yet. I have 3d printers, but I haven't found any fully- or mostly-printed mounting options.

Anyway, just introducing myself, as I'll probably have many questions along the way.

Your tank will soon enter "the ugly phase" which isn't a good environment for corals (and arguably also fish), so it's absolutely fine that you have neither right now. Your sand and possibly also rocks will be covered in brown slime (diatoms) soon and then green hair algae will follow. Once the green hair algae is gone your tank is ready for the first robust coral. You can add fish earlier (e.g. after the brown slime is gone). Please note that you won't have to do anything about these "outbreaks" and everything is fine :)
