Just curious. Been reading that other hawkfish are not great with snail CUC and I only have snails. I was think a longnose looked cool and had one way back in my 60g. Will they be just as much a snail chaser as other species of hawks?

Many snails and for sure shrimp are Not safe with them

I have my for 4 plus years and I have not seen it going after any of the CUC. Most of the time just perching on coral branches

Had my long nose take on any shrimp he thought he could fit, he wouldn’t bother with snails but I’m sure it’s a case by case basis and I fed very often

I agree. Shrimp— too tempting. Snails, probably not a first choice if the Longnose Hawk is kept well fed.

My ln was well fed and now it lives in my sump, took shrimps out and killed a couple of small fish, was fine for about 3 years.

Tiny shrimp I believe mine killed. Biggest problem are adding small fish. Lucky for me they are wrasse and lnh is slower
