Longnose hawkfish tank stocking

Hey all, i recently saw a longnose hawkfish in my lfs and i had to get it. he's doing well and everything, coming up to the front and eating but the tank its kind of empty with just him. what fish/inverts could i put with it without any problems? Its a 40 gallon breeder.

I would stick to maybe the smaller fish but not a clownfish since I find these can be aggressive in smaller tanks. I would maybe try a pink streak or possum wrasse but you would need a lid for these guys. I think you could get a Blenny in there (Escenius lineatus is a great one to have IMO and not too aggressive).

I know it may be a little too common but my fire goby and longnose hawkfish get a long very well. They both stay up at the front and never bother each other. I know this post is older but did you manage to get anything?

Longnose hawkfishes are pretty good to stock with a lot of other types of fish. They are inquisitive and frankly fun to watch as they perch. I have two varieties of hawkfishes (longnose & Falco) and they are good tank mates. Downside is that the longnose hawkfish developed a taste for shrimp, usually goes after them at lights out, thus no more shrimp.
