I have a noisy return pump but it's because of the pressure i think .

This is similar to how I have my plumbing ran return feeds three reactors and a fuge
Bio pellets
Gfo
Carbon
Slowly switching to all in one pellets
What's a good internal pump that's strong and quiet ?

You need to consider whether they are AC or DC powered. There are several tried and true DC pumps. I have a Blueline 70 for a basement sump application, and expect it to consume about $400 annually. I bought it before the current crop of quality DC pumps became available and may not even plumb it in.

What size is your tank, and is your sump in the stand or a basement setup? What kind of flow rate are you looking for?

I would look to the Ecotech Vectra L1 or the Red Dragon RD3 80 watt version. Check the flow charts on the following pages. I think either is worth consideration, but would lean toward the L1 because it costs a little less up front and is more powerful. There's a bit of a gap in the Red Dragon pumps between the 80 watt and the 230 watt and the L1 gets right in the middle.
