I've been using a canon 100mm 2.8 macro for a while and the quality is excellent. I'm using a Canon Rebel Xti also.

Here are sample images.

Whatever you do, stay away from Quantaray. They're inexpensive but I have one and really don't like it. Came as a kit lens. I have a Canon Rebel XT body.

The Tamron 90mm macro is widely known as the sharpest macro lens. It is also a fair amount less than the cannon 100. One of the only problems with it is that it does not focus internally.

I have the 65mm it is a little more flexible lens, meaning multi use, but for use in aquarium the 100mm macro from canon is the best

65mm macro is the best out there, its more then the 100mm but well worth it if you bank allows it.
