Hey all, I’m relatively new to reef tanks and I current have a 24x24x24 mixed reef tank with a Kessil a360x. I love the color of this light but the PAR at the lower part of my tank is lower than I’d like so I’ve been looking for a new light. A few lights I’ve been considering are the following:

Hydra Edge 44HD (I’ve heard good things but not sure if it’ll give me enough extra PAR)

Reef Flare Pro Blue M

Giesemann Vervve Pro LED

Nicrew HyperReef 150 or 200 Gen 2

I’m open to any other suggestions as well. I just want something that gives me some flexibility works well gets good results and will work when I eventually get a larger tank.

I've heard good things about Nicrew 200 gen2, can't beat the price and if you buy on Amazon you have 30 days to return it.

Reefbreeders Meridian, you can always add on Edges.

I have a pair of Nicrew Hyperreef Gen2 100s and am happy with them. I would reccomend getting the controller to ensure you get all of the functionality out of the the lights. They have been working great so far and the price point is favorable for what you get.

that reef flare pro might not be a good choice as reef factory I heard went bankrupt. not sure if anyone bought out the company but knowing u need to connect to a server for the lights to work should be a hard pass. the price is attractive as its cut in half but do some hard dd as if the server goes down money wasted on those . cant tell you if the server is still up and running

I run a single XR15 G6 Pro over the same size tank as yours. It grows anything you want in a mixed reef, with excellent color.

Curious to know what light you ended up going with!

I run the tank on Kessil knockoffs (AIPAI). Have you considered adding the 35 reflector? It's crazy effective. Doubles the PAR in the center and creates a great contrast by dimming the background a lot.

I think the Nicrew lights pretty good lights for the price. I also like the reefi uno pros and they come with a couple of reflector options that comes included.

Just a thought on the original post....Kessils wide-angle setup would leave PAR readings lower on the bottom than they actually are....a significant amount of light is indirect/reflected once you get to depth and wouldn't register much on a meter aimed straight up.
