Looking for recommendations on a blenny for my tank. I've kept starry, lawnmower and fang blenny before in other tanks with great success and no issues in terms of aggression or nipping at things.

With this tank I'd like to add a clam or two down the road and have heard mixed reviews on having a blenny with clams.

Are there any in particular that do better/best with them? Ideally I'd like something that would pick at the rocks and take care of some algae as well as look nice.

Lawnmower blenny is my favorite for picking at algae, especially for tanks too small for tangs.

My favorite blenny though is a tailspot, though they are not quite the grazer a lawnmower is, they have great personalities as well as looking cool.

My old lawnmower and Starry destroyed any and all algae on my rock to the point my tangs didn't have much to pick at. Do they do well with clams? I've been told and read some accounts of them picking at the mantle of the clam from time to time. I'm partial to the looks of the tailspot and bicolor.

Midas Blennies are one of my favorite fish. Not much of a algae grazer but tons of personality

I have personally never had a lawnmower cause issues w/ clams, and I wonder if those that did saw them just picking at algae at rim and possibly even a declining clam would be my guess.

I have a lawnmower with a clam for about a year now and no issues. He picks algae from the clams shell but never goes for the flesh
