Hey everyone!

I am not new to the hobby by any means, but im confused when it comes to plumbing a new build i have coming soon. I have a internal overflow on a new tank which im having build and i dont know how i should go about doing the drain so its quiet.

I guess im looking for some opinions on what you would do. The drains have not yet been drilled as the tank hasnt been started on the build. I was thinking of doing a herbie style but adding 1 extra emergency drain. The plumbing on the tank is going to be 1-1/2" and the tank is 375gallons.

Any thoughts or anything will be of great help.

Thanks
Dave

I wanted to mention the drain has a horizontal length of 30' until it hits the sump

Herbies are dead silent but take a lot of work imo, I went this route and was constantly adjusting the valves, I ended up having to have the slightest trickle in my emergency overflow to stabilize the sump level.

A lot of people have had great success, I have bean setups now on my tanks.
