I have been researching my next fish addition and would love to get some input from other's experiences.

Tank info:
80g mixed reef, 20g sump

Current Stock:
Purple Tang
Clown Pair
Green Banded Goby
(2) Blue assessors
Golden Midas Blenny
Red Dartifsh

Looking for colorful, active, reef safe, compatible fish.

Thanks.

Are you looking for another larger fish or a group of smaller fish to add movement? If you're thinking about smaller active fish, then +1 on some anthias, or possibly a group of chromis or bangaii cardinals.

I would add a group of anthias, I like the Lyretail personally. You could also think about adding some fairy and flasher wrasses, as long as you have a cover on the tank.

I do have an acclimation container. I would prefer a group of fish over a large one. I love the anthias but I keep reading contradictory information about how hard they are to keep? I will read some more. Thanks.

Any other ideas?

I think with anthias it depends on which you choose. Some are much harder than others. Also most of the "difficulty" is with feeding them often enough.

Cardinals dont really provide that much movement...they like overhangs and chilling out in slack flow.

+1 for anthias, and +1 to purple tang aggression. If you can add other fish at the same time, do so...however in your smaller-ish tank you are definitely close to capacity.

Currently I'm prepping my tank for anthias. I'm feeding more to get the bacteria population up to par. Anthias aren't very hard, you just have to feed more often.
