Looks like a tube worm? Feather duster maybe?

What are the pink growths? Came outta nowhere and now they are growing and spreading quickly.

Close up in second photo.

Haven't seen the feathers extended which would be a dead giveaway but will keep looking.

They are spreading like wildfire... finding them everywhere. Weird how they just came out of nowhere and now taking over the place.

They look like chaetopterids. Do they have two little "tentacles" that come out of the tube? I had a whole bunch of those little guys and they didn't bother anything as far as I could tell, but something must have eaten them because their population has all but disappeared.

The vermetids @Tahoe61 suggested also have those tentacles, and the color seems more similar to yours than the chaetopterids. Do they emit a mucus film? I'm fairly certain I've had both in my tank without problems, but I also don't know all that much about pest critters.

I have both the larger and smaller types. The mucous net does irritate some of my corals, such as my Duncan.

For me typically the populations die off as the tank ages, and over feeding is avoided.

I remove the larger type with pliers and the smaller type the same way if they are near a coral. Available food source affects population size.

Thanks for the link. I did see some mucus strings draped over some acros so I suspect they drifted over. I haven't seen the mucus stream coming out of the end of the tube yet. I will keep an eye out for that. Either way, I am not concerned about them. I love the way mother nature takes care of most things.
