Aw man, sorry to hear that Jared. That's a total bummer. You know I had a major tank disaster last November. Huge heartbreak, but you pick up and move forward.

I know Paul, I thought about calling you, but this guy was coming over anyway to put the mail in the house and water the grass. It was nothing he did or didn't do, just didn't know how to fix the problem... or that there was even a problem. To be honest, I have thought about downsizing to a smaller tank since I don't have time to maintain a large tank anymore, but this certainly wasn't the way I wanted to downsize. I will give you a shout soon man, I need to know where to go from here...

I hear ya. A couple years ago I had my neighbor check on mine while on vacation just to make sure the ato was functioning and he would have never known either if the return pump failed because the powerheads where still moving the water in the tank.

On a positive note...

CONGRATS!!!!

on tying the knot......

That is one of my worse nightmares. Sorry to hear your loss, it must be painful. It worries me everytime I leave for more than a day. Other than having someone check-in, which has also failed me, I bought an IP camera aimed at my tank so I can check it on-line. If something goes wrong I can cut the trip short. It is not installed yet but it should work for me.

Ugh man, that sucks... I am on vacation right now in the Bahamas (Atlantis) an worry about this every day. I told the person coming over to my place daily that if they see anything at all wrong with the tank (things dying, not opening up, fish not eating, anything) to call the LFS I always go to and they should be able to send someone over to help.

Now to try and enjoy the second half of my vacation after reading this...

Sorry to make you worry Scott. I was actually in Barbados on my honeymoon, and I certainly wasn't too concerned about my tank, as I thought I had it covered. Don't let it ruin your trip, as I am sure you prepared a little better than I did.

Wow, so sorry to hear about the mishap with your pump. I sure hope some pieces pull through for you.

Jared,

Let me know if you need to get anything into a clean tank asap. i could stop by tonight ( i will be at my wifes work at 5:45)
