Hello,
I bought a used tank with all the used equipment. Which has turned out to all have problems.
There are two mp40s. Both are very very loud. My bf chaged the bearings on one and it's not vibrating like it was but I can hear the powerhead from up a flight of stairs. Both seem to be just as loud. Anything else we should/could try to replace? If not what is a more budget friendly quiet similar pump?

Next the protein skimmer is a reef octo 150 int. The pump is making a rattling noise. I did put a silicone mat under it which made it more berable. I'm kind of assuming I will just have to replace the pump? I did take it apart and clean it.

Lastly it had two return pumps on it that somehow both have stray voltage. We tested it with some pen thingy (not sure what its called lol) because we both were getting shocked. I'm guessing those are just garbage at this point? Or do people buy something like that and try and fix it? For right now I have to have one running but do have a replacement coming in.

Sorry this is so long. Appreciate any help!

Is the sound coming from the wet side or dry side?
And do you feel vibrations?

the wet and dry side are probably not alligned perfectly...
if they are off center with each other it will rattle like that.

As for the return pumps, if your getting stray voltage from it, replace them.

I recommend Jebao pumps if your on a budget.

Dry side is the very loud side. It feels slightly warm too. The wet side isnt loud right now I noticed it rattles if its not aligned perfectly. It essentially sounds like a very loud motor/fan. I attached a video with the sound. It was vibrating before bearings were replaced and it seems ok now. I think the magnet isnt the best so if that moves then there is rattling and vibration
