Lowering ph

I just put in my seneye monitoring system and ph is to high 8.55. How do I lower it?

What are the other parameters of the tank? If your alkalinity is low, the ph will fluctuate more. Can you post the other parameters for your tank to give more info to work with?

I have read a few reviews saying the ph monitoring system of the seneye is very inaccurate. I would double check it first before messing with your tank.

I agree. I have a monitor and two other different ph tests so I can triple check if I need to. If you do need to make changes, whatever you do should be done carefully and slowly.

One way to decrease the pH in tanks using limewater is to drive more carbon dioxide into the water. One can drive more carbon dioxide into the water through better aeration, by adding carbon dioxide directly, or by adding an organic acid that eventually breaks down into carbon dioxide (like vinegar; aka acetic acid). The vinegar can be added directly to the limewater itself, or directly to the tank.
Another good option to lower chronically high pH is to switch to an alkalinity supplement that has less of a pH raising effect. Limewater is the worst of the lot, followed by sodium carbonate (washing soda). Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) will actually have a very slight pH lowering effect on it's own, and will make a big pH effect relative to adding limewater or washing soda. A CaCO₃/CO₂ reactor, of course, has the biggest pH lowering impact of any alkalinity supplement scheme (as described above).

I've never gotten a pink result like that on my ph test. Could you take a sample to your lfs to double check?

looks light purple to me.

One thing to consider is whether or not you should do anything. After all high ph (especially just before lights out) means low co2. So all that may be happening is the plant life (algae, corals, whatever) is simply consuming all the co2 being generated. So that the system is a net consumere of co2 and producer of oxygen each 24 hour period.

that would hardly be considered a problem.

But hey that's just my .02

I haven't done anything yet. I don't know why API tests pink. Only thing I've done is top off the water. My lfs sucks by the way. I don't trust them at all.

Yup it's starting to go up again. Slowly though. It's 8.44

I don't know. I just got it a month ago. This is why I got the seneye in the first place. The API test always seemed to fluctuate so much in just one day. But now I don't know what to believe.

This is two ph tests taken at the same time and even they don't match completly

PH does flutuate alot in one day. If you take the readings when the lights are out you will get one reading, then a titally different reading when the lights are on. Now, I believe that reading more than I believe that its 8.4. That test is more like it.
