LPS don't survive

Hi team hoping for some ideas. 6 month old 25 JBJ AIO.

A little relevant up front-
I went through a battle with ostreos about month 3 and all my fish survived, the corals not so much.
Used many concoctions of eradiation chems including algecide.
Did 3 major water changes with the same LFS Redsea (the kind that you can store a while).
I just set up my at home RODI. I have Aquaforest Hybrid grow to use now.
I have a par meter and reading about 105 center to 90 on the corners.
Syna G with wifi. Everything is hooked up to wifi and remote power management.
I have a thriving invert population, emeralds, peppermint, pistol and his watchman goby, snails.
I have a thriving refugium with delicious mat growth. I use a fluval and circulate the water in a remote canister.
And an inline UV sterilizer matched to the recommended water flow, about 150 or so.
5 headed sentia doser with redsea foundations and nopox, very small doses aiming for .1x5 or so
I get a clear bacteria glass film that has to be cleaned weekly. I feed frozen and hikari liberally.
There is no real nuisance algae in the display, but I have this fuzz all over my stonies.
Those used to be beautiful LPS.

Any Ideas? Is something feasting on the zooxanthealla? (sorry spelling)

Parameters; last reading- the mag got a little wobbley due to a water change.
The nitrate readings are redsea test/Hanna.

Hi can we have some details on your lighting and flow please? Type of lighting, intensity, hours, any powerheads?
 
sure! this Light delivers about 105 PAR to the center bottom around 18 inches. I should have included I forgot, Sicce variable wave on very low setting. It is enough to distribute the food and keep things flowing around. It has a wide dispersion.

The return powerhead is rated for 400 but they are all over rated with 3/8 tuning it does about 150 gph or so return rate.

To add I selectively do cycle the times for max filtering at night for several hours, fug light on for a while. And a skimmer runs at night and is collecting. Sorry I have so much and forgot some details.
 
The sand dozing is from the Pistol on a mission, he never stops dozing sand.
 
Hello, just based on your description and the two photos it is hard to give you accurate advice. When you say AIO typically that would mean the tank has a built in filtration system. Does your tank have this? Also, your tank doesn't look to have a ton of rock. Rock is so important for natural filtration in a reef tank.
 
On another note, while I had all this buried in my brain, eventually Dr. TIms and 3 days backout was the final barrage that knocked out the Ostreos. About 3 months back. Things have stablized dramaticly, except for the mortality of LPS.

I have lots of rock, I just havn't decided to load it up because of this. I have a ceramic farm in the refugium, middle partition of the back.
 
Personally I would suggest to add a powerhead, perhaps even 2. 150 gph by 25 gallons is 6x turnover, the suggested minimum on a reef tank is 20x, I keep my tanks at about 30x-40x turnover (gph divided by gallons). Personally I think you need more flow. Have a look at the sicce voyager nano powerheads, they are great low budget but good quality, excellent to move water without creating a a blast of water Just my 2 cents, good luck
 
I really dont know how I can get that much agitation. 25 gallons is pretty confined, but I will keep it in mind. When these plugs sit in the LFS they seem very tranquil and not a lot of much of anything seem to be going on, like 500 GPH.
 
Well, just to keep it going as a possible thread I would like to document the journey. Here is the bilge section of an all in one. Right side is the skimmer behind the return, and the fluval uptake in there. I have a course sponge block to stop the skimmer bubbles from pouring through the under tow window. Then the middle partition is the refugium, no fancy holsters, just glass, and a bag of ceramics and activated charcol. there is a fug light on a timer b/c I make more than enough to scrape and feed the inverts with it. The fluval return is in the middle chamber. ATO with RODI 2.5 gal tank.

On the left side it is built as a water fall over a window, I have a course sponge to catch the crumbs of mat that I occasionally harvest for the crabs. The dosing hoses. The return pump suctioned to the bottom and an inline UV up to the discharge vent. The heater is in the display b/c in the northeast it needs a more ready temp feedback and response and works well there.

I got my first of 3 lab results back. This one is water quality. Here is the link; result, deficient in a number of trace elements. I was wondering how people feel about the Red Sea trace elements, I am thinking about going to the 4-part total supplement system. What type of light is this - doesnt look enough tbh
 
The results were just before a 10 percent water change.

Syna-G Cloud 165. Running at about 80 percent. I am open to ideas, but where I look at public domain, Par seems about right?

I also took the suggestions, increased rock quite a bit, increased powerhead flow, I added Auqa Biomic Gulf Sand.
 
Also - I just set up my own RODI, so I expect the contaminants to change, getting 75 TDS in and 0 out. Tweaked with some bottle traces. Should be fairly in line with all that generally.
 


Just got my first MicroBiom report back. This was before I added AquaBiomics sand supplements, and water maintenance last month. Very interesting, high diversity, but unusually dominated by 2 bacertiums. Tank still looks the same, "parameters" straight down the middle. A little more dino activity, under watch.

I added a couple of Lord LPS, and they are still surviving. They seem to respond positively to targeted Amino food. It reads to me that my dominant bacteria also are the ones that attach to aminos and sugars, and possibly, as I suspect, outcompeting the corals that thrive on aminos for food.

None reported as directly pathogenic.
