Bought this at a market in Bangkok. Assumed it was Fungia but its attached to the frag plug with about a cm tall trunk. This surprised me as I had thought Fungia are free-roaming. It is about 4cm wide. Could it be a juvenile stage Fungia?

Also, please ignore the bubble algae. Am working out a strategy to remove it along with some byropsis. Any suggestions are welcome!

Looks like fungia to me. If it was harvested very small or fragged into small pieces then attaching it to a plug just helps ensure it does not get lost and move around on its own/with the flow.
