Hi Experts, quick clarifications...

1. Noticed a correlation between LPS' skeletal bone turning from white to pink to dark maroon/brown and LPS corals dying. Is this a correct assumption?
2. What can be done to prevent LPS' skeletal bone from turning pink ?

Thanks.

It could be that the coral is 'dying' from the bottom (from something) - and then coralline or other algae is growing on the dead part. Having said that - there are also examples of 'colorful bleaching' events - in which corals turn purple/pink (Mainly stony corals) - prior to death. Lastly - there are red colored bacteria that can cause disease.

Thanks MnFish1, mine is surely not the first case. Sounds to me that my observation is more likely the second case you mentioned. Regards.
