I got a LTA About a week ago. It’s very healthy has beautiful colors checks off all the boxes on what a LTS should be.
But for whatever reason, he will not bury into the sand and he will not settle in. I have a tomato clown that will not leave it alone and pushes it all around the tank. I have put the tomato clown in a breeder box for two days and the anatomy still hasn’t settled down. All my parameters are perfect . I have a very moderate for my tank. Nothing crazy for whatever reason LTA just does not want to settle down.
I’m starting to worry and I don’t want anything to happen to my tank. Can somebody please give me some suggestions asking if I can do?

Can you make or buy one of those nem cups/boxes and see if that works?

I haven’t heard of those where can I find them or find how to make them?
Sorry, I was being lazy. If you get really worried about it floating around, the box can be a magnetic or floating acclimation box made out of acrylic or egg crate or hobby lobby type plastic grid material.

But for settling it down, it could literally be a shallow glass; but I imagine you don’t want a glass in your tank long term, let alone a nem box but hey.

Just did a quick search and I skipped all the expensive ones but just on etsy there’s a few like this. But you may be able to fashion one. Regardless, if it doesn’t like the spot it doesn’t like the spot. But it may help coax and settle it down long enough.

Honestly I could care less about random stuff in the tank cause over time I’m sure it will blend in. I have a 3D printer. Let me see if I can find a file for it. If I can I’ll print it in stone PLA and hopefully that’s all it takes. But if that doesn’t work. What do I do?

oh that’s sick! Yes there’s a ton of slightly different designs out there so take your pick.

If that doesn’t work… idk. Cut the flow a little so at least it’s not blowing around and can walk more to where it wants to be under the light at least? Would be my next bet; if not first bet.

I can’t seem to find one. I’m afraid the Etsy one will take too long. Idk what to do

You could make a weight basket/open cage with egg crate or similar materials

Okay I found something pretty good. Print finished. I put the LTA in the cup. Seems happy isn’t trying to get out. I put it where the LTA keeps going. The clown isn’t bothering it. Hopefully by tmmw it will settle

Any pics of your system?
Trying to control a nem is not going to work. I had 2 in my 35 and now they split, one twice, and I have 5. They may stay in one place for months then move. This is why I only keep them in a dedicated system.
Anyone want a free nem, lol.
