There are very realistic fake looking sponges
They are soft, can be bend, but not cheap.
Why not gong with real orange sponges?

I don t have picture taking skills, i have nice subjects!
Just need to have very clean glass, lot of patience and a good lightning.
I use a cheap compact camera!
ha ha ha....yes you do have great subjects! However, I am sticking to my original quote about picture taking skills! Maybe I can get better by seeing through your lens. ;)

I think I may go with some live sponges. I see that gulf coast ecosystems now has them as well as KP Aquatics. KP always seems to be out of them.

Thank you everybody!
All seahorses did very well. Max temp was 79 from 2pm to 10:20 pm
What I did is put ice packs in the bottom of a bucket and put a bucket with water, macro, seahorses and bubbler (bubbler + sponge filter for dwarfs) on the bucket with ice. Temp stayed stable, i just add to add/change ice.
You just have to put the right amount of ice.
Could be a good tip if you have to travel under hot sun.
So my horses are in a great foster home, at a breeder, near Gainesville. They have hundreds of new seahorses neighbours and I m so happy they are in good hands!
I am so gratefull that Victoria crow took them... she saved them!!!
And as it was a late arrival, she offer us to stay for the night, avoiding us few more hours of driving to reach the hotel!
That s why I love USA... seriously, in France that thing would never ever happen!
Stranger offering you to stay for the night with 2 babies and a dog???
Wow... Victoria is amazing...
I was also impressed by her horses and setup...
But the adventure is not over yet. Still have to go back home and probably restart the tanks... meaning quite a lot of job...

You did great taking care of your erectus and dwarf tank in a crisis. I have read different folks who have lost all their fish and they did not have as sensitive of animals as your seahorses. I am sorry about the dwarf fry but I am sure as the dwarfs settle back in they will resume breeding.

I am sorry to hear about the tanks crashing but at least your seahorses are safe.

Do you think they will change back to their 'before' Irma coloring now that they are back with you? They are great looking whatever color they are.
