Hey R2F,

How many lyretail Anthias would be acceptable in a 72x18x24?
Current stock:
Clown pair
Foxface

Future stock:
Wrasse
Yellow tang
Powder brown or blue tang

It depends how much of an impact you want to make with them. if you just want a few to give movement then 3-4 will be fine, if you want to make an impact 7-8 would look reasonable. If you are looking to make a real statement (and re-think future stock) then 10-12. Just make sure you buy all small fish and let the group evolve.

That does sound awesome and I really do enjoy a large group. As for the future stock, how much more load could the tank handle?

I have no idea of your tank filtering potential, so it is very difficult to say with any accuracy what it can sustain. With my system I added small numbers (6 or 8) until I started to see an increase in nitrate/phosphate levels then waited to see if they stablised before adding more (my filter system was designed around lots of fish)

Sorry, I should have specified if the tank can handle that many fish space wise, I know my filtration can handle it.
