MacGyver lights?

Ok i so i have t5 fixture i believe its oddesy with 4 bulbs and 1 mh. And i also have mars aqua led 165w. So my question is has anyone rigged their t5 fixture with their led? Am i going too extreme? Or is it not worth messing with? I love the t5 look but i want the led to make the corals pop and stand out.im kinda on a budget i want to do a diy, maybe some how i can attach it? Pictures and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading!

If you could get that to work, it would be a nice setup. Light combos do good things. Do you have pics?

There are quite a few people on here who do a T5/LED hybrid. The claim is the growth of T5s with the color of LEDs. I personally like to mod by LEDs with other LEDs :)

I made an LED samitch. 4 X t5 on outside of my leds. Great growth and color so far. Do have plans for potential upgrade end of year or mid January depending on how a few things play out. Main reason is I wanna ditch the hood.

That looks good! I wanna upgrade in the future but for now i wanna try and work with what i got

Heres mine but I didnt use a black box.

I personally love the t5 look always have.

I added these 3w led bars that I got off of ebay then put gel filters over some of the white leds (basically just added some reds and more blues it already had green and uv) adding these led bars gave me 100 more par on the sand and gave the tank the shimmer effect.

I also added a euro e5 blue pop.

Knock off brand from china. Its was only like $100 for all 4 bars I'll see if I can get a link

Are these the same ones? In the description it says white and blue. In your picture it has red greenblue purp?

My t5 two bulb retro kit from brs made from two aluminum porch railings and emt only up a week and I love the combo.
It cradles my reef breeders photon 60.

Np Im sure they get the ones with green again but for the red I attached gel filters to the light made more blues that way also
