Everyone wishes they knew the "secret" to a beautiful reef. Although there is no be-all and end-all solution to maintaining the perfect reef, there are a few things we can do that can have largely positive impacts on our home reefs. Macroalgae is one of those things! From balancing parameters to combating excess nutrients, being a food source, and more, macroalgae can be a game changer for aquarists. Are you utilizing its benefits right now?

I initially had a lot of gorgeous macroalgae that came in as hitchhikers on my live rock. Alas my first really love the taste of it, so it's all gone. I want to get a refugium setup going, but my self-designed sump just tears it all to bits. Really need to figure out how to fix that.

I find that my asterinas and amphipods like to live in the chaeto in the sump area. I like having red gracilaria to look at, although my inverts always end up eating it all
