Macro algae

Where do I get it? I was given a handful of some sort of "seaweed" to try to feed my tangs with, they love it. But he store doesnt carry it or cannot get it in anymore? Ideas? Cost?

Premium aquatics sells it, $15 for a bag and shipping will be cheap for it. I work there, we have regular cheato, olvo, and a few others. Tangs love olvo :)

Are you looking for display macroalgae or just stuff to feed your fish? If you want to feed your fish and have a refugium, purchase ulva and gracilaria and dump any chaeto you have growing to give the gracilaria and ulva as much space as possible, and just let it grow.

Be warned that unless it is calcareous, any herbivores (tangs, snails) will devour it within a few hours of it being in the tank. Good macros for tanks with tangs are halimeda, shaving brush, pencil cap, mermaid's fan, acantophora spicifera, cactus caulerpa, galaxaura, gracilaria hayi (this gracilaria is calcareous), and there are a few others.
