I recently started taking photos with a macro lens and am having some difficulty shooting large sections of my mini colonies vs individual branches.

Shooting top down 12-18" away from the subject with a 90mm Tamron lens.

For those that shoot a lot what is the max subject size you shoot with a lens like this?

And what kinds of settings do you shuffle through to account for the subject size?

Thanks

With a prime lens, you are pretty much stuck with that focal length. You have to move back to get a larger field of view.

As for what the maxximum size you can shoot with it, it depends on how far back you can go.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
