Ok so I have a 340 gallon reef with large angels. Love the tank problem was filtration no sump I could buy would be able to fit everything I wanted to install. I had two choices first I could pay someone to make me one to my specs or two just do it myself.
After pricing out what it would cost to have one built the price tag almost $850.00 so sat down down pencil in hand and started to draw. I came to this my tank is 7 feet long. So my space for length was there. The height under the tank that was the challenge. I had 21" I had to get a skimmer, uv sterilizer, refugium, and six pumps in there. The biggest challenge was having the room to remove the skimmer when it was time to clean. So came this have a space 84" by 16" by 21" I needed at least 6" Clearance. I came up with 65" long 15.5" wide and 15" tall. So I figured what glass I would need and ordered it. I had some Window glass in the garage so all I needed was 5 pieces I called the local glass and mirror company have them the measurements and was shocked. $140.67. I was like per piece no total. This is a no Brainer. When will it be ready tomorrow? Ok I bought a couple of tunes of silicone and some pvc outside corner. I cut wood for spacers picked up my glass and went to town. This is how it turned out. Hope you can enjoy this as much as I did. For under $200.00 I built mine.
