I've been dosing with PurpleUp and Strontium and the corraline is really taken off, but my Magnesium is over 1500 and my calcium is 520. If I stop dosing will they come down? This is my first salt water aquarium and could use all the help I can get.

Yes they will come done over time or thru water changes magnesium being high is not as bad other trace elements many reefers elevate magnesium to help combat with algae issues
Thanks, should I stop dosing and just let it come down on its own?

I wish marketing would keep their dirty paws off what is otherwise simple chemistry. They give it a fancy name and charge big bucks, but I believe Purple Up is simply an overpriced calcium supplement. Stop using it and your calcium will come down.

I'd like to add to salt4life's advice. While not dosing, try to test the water for calcium, KH, and Mag everyday. This will give you a good idea of what is actually being consumed day to day. If you want to get really crazy with it, try to test the same time every day (light cycles can make a difference). Moving forward, you can then dose the right amount of additives for the actual consumption of elements. You may also figure out that you can change to a different additive (maybe cheaper!) for more stable results.

Also, can you post a pic of your tank. Always eager to see everyone efforts!
