Magnetic Lab Spinner = Thumbs up

I saw an article a long time ago with someone suggesting the use of a magnetic lab spinner for testing....and after waiting a long time I decided to just pull the trigger. I just wanted to repost something about it, because it's made testing a lot easier and I figure people might be interested.

I got this one off amazon for like $50. The sound is just the little magnet they sent...it's too big for the testing vile so it rattles off the sides. I'm ordering smaller ones. I'm testing GH in this test - for freshwater - and typically it's a real pain because you have to add a drop, cap the vile, shake, add a drop, repeat.

Anyway - highly recommend. Much more fun.

What is that one? It fits the red sea vial perfectly or just similar enough? That seems better than what I got since I think mine is going to spin off at any given time.

Where'd you get this one? Looks awesome and the Red Sea Max Vials apparently fit perfect

Its called the Aquaristik speed test stirrer. Looks like a handy device, been consindering getting one.

Yea it's from aquaristik. It fits the red sea perfectly. I'd recommend buying a couple extra magnets so you don't have to clean them between tests https://sraquaristik.com/product/speed-test/

I'm curious how well that works with the Red Sea mg test. Only 3ml of water if I recall correctly.

Ive used it for the full line of red sea tests including mg. It has a dial to turn the speed up or down

Yep, i use mine with Red Sea kits and it works just fine. Mg is only 2ml of water but i use a very small magnet for that one.
