Do you make your own RODI or use tap water?

LFS RODI water and i mix my own salt. and ive checked there RODI water and 0 nitrates and 0 phosphates

For instance I have to feed 3+ times a day to keep my no3 and Po4 up using just a skimmer. I use Rods food and flake. The rods food is thawed in tank water then fed.

way off topic but i been really wanted a dwarf lionfish. my tank is pretty open concept so i know he would do good in it. my question is. does water flow effect these guys since there not the greatest swimmers? with the info given what would i lose putting a lionfish in there? fish inverts corals? what would be killed?

If your other fish are smaller than the lion, they can be eaten. They're cool fish and I had one in a reef about 20 years ago but it seriously impacts what fish you can add. They can find a place in just about any tank but other than their striking appearance, they're rather sedentary.

im just wondering if my skimmer is not as good as it should be. i get maybe a half a cup in the collection cup a week. and its a dark brown normally. its gotten a lighter color ever since i scrubbed the hair algae off and took that basic rock out and blow out a lot of the rocks from debri. could my aquaclear 70 be doing damage? i rinse out the sponge filter in it every water change with clean water and i mainly have the aquaclear so i can run carbon

that looks huge compared to mine. maybe i need an upgrade. maybe its not pulling enough out of tank. BTW mine is a HOB skimmer. as i have no sump. i want to graduate to a sump next year if budget allows. right now i have to save up for a new skimmer in hopes that is the issue. what is your skimmer rated for?
