Will a male Spotbreast Angel revert back to a female in the absence of a mate? I've got a large 4.5-5" male that I want to make sure stays a male! I've read that they have a tendency to revert back to a female if kept singly. Is this the case? Should I be looking into adding a female?

They do have a tendency to revert. A female of any Genicanthus species will work. Just beware of aggression from an established male toward any new Genicanthus added.

The male has yet to be added to the display yet so maybe I can hold him in QT longer until I find a female. That way I could add them simultaneously.

I would recommend that course.
