Making clown host with a nem

well...... I am truing our the bucket method.
I set up a 5 gal QT tank and have a bucket inside of it with a nem and both of my clowns. I have a few holes drilled in the container and slowly bring it out of the water reducing the amount of their swimming to a little until they run into the nem over and over.

I have been doing this for about 30 min now, and only have made them collide with the nem a few times... how much longer should I keep up this game before adding them all back into my DT to see if it took

Ok... Well after doing so every 15 min for an hour and a half, I added them back into the DT. Before I did that they seemed happy rubbing against the BTA while in the tiny tank.

I hope this works out and they now understand they can touch the **** thing instead of staring at it like it is the plague.

After watching them in the tank for a while an hour after releasing them, they are still avoiding all the nems.. I think my attempted effort failed :(

IMO, this is a bad idea. Stand a good change of damaging the clown or even getting it eaten/killed.

What species of clown is this?

it is a snowflake, and the nems mouth is 1/4 the size of the clown...

Show them a video of other clowns hosting.

If your clown isn't hosting your anemone, I can give you a simple solution.

Buy three more anemones. :-)

it is a snowflake, and the nems mouth is 1/4 the size of the clown...

The mouth can expand, more than enough to "swallow" a clown.

E. quadricolor isn't a natural host for "snowflake". Though, I have a pair; A. percula and A. ocellaris that are currently hosted by an E. quadricolor, I just give them time.

Time will tell, I gave up and figured it has been a year... whats another 12+ years without them hosting.

What kind of nems?

Get a skunk, I promise you it will dive into a Magnifica the first week if you have one.

If it doesn't, I'll personally ship you some clowns that have been in all my nems.

My Maroon Clown found his RBTA which is on a rock on the sand a day after putting him in the DT. Before my 2 OC Clowns decided to go carpet surfing, they were in the tank with the same RBTA for about 6 months and never left the top 1/4 of the tank.

An E. quadricolor is a natural host anemone for a maroon.

I know, thats why I got one. I figured after the first shot why fight whats not natural.
