Male clown chasing female

So my male clown has been cleaning and rubbing himself on the same rock for a few days now, I've been told they are getting ready to lay eggs.

Just noticed my male has actually been chasing the female and trying to rub against her and he's supper hyper which is unusual they both look healthy. Do you think she's ready to mate? Or is there something up with dominance or something? BTW the girl is just over double size of male
