Thanks!!

That looks like a male. He is on the thin side. Hope he is eating frozen mysis well for you, and transition into eating the aiptasia.
BTW, that first picture is the best picture to use to sex this fish.

I got him last week and have been trying many things. He eats frozen mysis, and I've been trying a mix of: frozen SF Bay carnivore cuisine (pollock, conch, mussel, sand worms, octopus), frozen SF Bay angel & butterfly formula (sponge, mysis, mussels), frozen PE mysis (also tried Hikari), and frozen SF Bay bloodworms. Also freeze dried blackworms.

He is very active and follows me around. Now he goes right to the spot where I use the feeder pippette to put the food in and picks what he likes. The wrasses keep a distance because they don't like me opening the lid flaps. Good for the CBB. So far, he seems to like the frozen mysis the most, still.

I have a white worm starter culture kit coming this week and will start culturing white worms. Hopefully he likes them.

Thanks for your help @OrionN !!

I didn't ask, what is the defining feature of being male? I read it is a bump/ridge on the beak, but I can't tell even from male/female side by side google photos

Friends, I'm following here.... This is absolutely my most favorite fish and I aspire to have one in my next tank, a 150 :-) Good luck, JoJo!

It is the slope of the forehead. Please read my thread on the sexual dimorphism of CBB

Thanks! Your thread was an excellent read. I think I can see the difference in a flat profile shot, now. Next on the list, fattening him up!
