I've been wanting to get a mandarin for a few years now but have held off because of the care level and food requirements. I finally broke down and bought one a few days ago. He acclimated fine and immediately started looking for pods. I noticed when I fed brine he was eating some so I put him a little pile in the corner and he devoured them:) this is awesome to me since all I've been told and read says they're very hard to get to eat frozen. Just wanted to share this w y'all.

Awesome!
one of my favorite fish :) been afraid to purchase one without a sustainable cope pod population and haven't found one locally that's already eating frozen.

I have a good pop of pods and have some ordered for it but I was amazed that it ate the frozen. It won't get any out of the water Colum but if I pile some up on a rock it has no problem eating.
