I have a Mandarin (since I have tons of pods) He is doing great I have since supplemented with trigger pods to be sure I have enough.
I have watched him closely and I think he is interested in frozen food but I don't think he ate t yet though I cant be to sure. I saw him follow a few floaters but I don't think he ate them but I think that's because thy are floating and not on the rock...Any trick to getting the to eat or try frozen foods? I Don't mind stocking the pod but would love it if he would eat the Mysis or Brine.

I don't but I think that's mixed in with the bottle trigger pods I buy. Otherwise they couldn't live in the bottle.. Is that true?.
I also feed my tank Zooplankton (dried)
When my sump is ready I will have a refrugiam and I plan to have pods and whatever I need to keep that population going..

Mine likes the small sinking pellets made by Sustainable Aquatics.

I took an idea from Mark @melev reef. Mine is eating frozen. This is a Stubbs BBQ bottle that I place Mysis and Cyclopes. I haven't bought the pellets, but I might try that as well.

Do you feed your pods phytoplaynkton?

I don't either, should I be? They don't get enough from the fish food, Mysis, Cyclopes, veggie matter and nori I feed? Let me know, I'm just growing pods in my fuge (in chaeto).

I was waiting for my local store to have a bag of pods, but I was doing small doses of phytoplankton in the mean time. The tank is under 3 weeks and this morning I noticed a Pod explosion. I went from not being able to see any pods to having thousands all over the class and large ones on the rocks. I don't think a Mandarin could keep up with them right now, I would try the Phytoplankton as food as it is fairly cheap. I think you will notice a big difference in your pod population.

I didn't purchase some type of copepod food I don't believe it's your phytoplankton but it says that it's good for all kinds of pods you were supposed to put it into the display tank directly initially.. I am going to give it a try and hopefully I'll have as much luck as you did !
