Mangroves in the dt

I really like the idea of a mangrove in the DT my concern is the roots burying them in the sand or do the have to be above the sand?

Leave them above the sand, they will eventually find their way to the sand. You will need to find a way to anchor the stalk so it doesn't float about freely though..
